The Green Party has backed a motion declaring that "Zionism is racism". In a single line it brands most British Jews as racists for believing that the Jewish people, like every other people, have a right to a home of their own.

Why we oppose it

Zionism is the belief in Jewish self-determination in the Jewish homeland. You can criticise any Israeli government and still be a Zionist. Calling Zionism racism singles out Jews, and only Jews, as the one people whose right to a nation is illegitimate. That is not anti-racism. It is an old prejudice in new clothes. Anti-Zionism is racism.

What we are asking

Send one polite email to Green Party head office and a handful of Green councillors. It takes two minutes. Ask them to reject this motion, reverse it and stand with Jewish people.
